Big Hug”)

Get Hugged in Yoyogi Park: 2009/09/19
http://huginthepark.wordpress.com/
Date: Saturday, September 19, 2009. (The rain date is Sunday, September 20, same time and place)
Place: Yoyogi Park, on the grass area, above the fountain and pond.
Time: 2:00 pm start! 2:30 is the BIG HUG!
Dear Japan,
Did you know that you need 8 hugs a day to be psychologically healthy? I think living in lonely Japan, many people need some serious catching up to do. How would hugs change Japan? Well, let’s see….
With Robb Willer, a professor of Sociology at the University of California in Berkeley, I would like to invite you to participate in a hug event in September at Yoyogi Park. It will be simple, and free. It’s also a sociology study to see how people feel before and after the event. It’s also a picnic, so stay afterward and meet people, if you want!
All you have to do is show up with someone you know who is in need of some hugs and we shall hug! Or, bring someone you wanna hug, and just hug them and show us how it’s done! Hug whomever you feel comfortable hugging! Discuss hugging. Plus, we will do a giant hug, with as many people as possible. And we shall simultaneously hug. We won’t aim to break any records (tho we might), but just to give and get some hugs going (there will be perv / pick-pocketing common sense rules o’course!).
The date is set for September 19th at 2:00pm in Yoyogi Park, when it won’t be so nastily-hot. 2:30pm is the big simultaneous hug! The rain date will be the next day. Come and go as u please.
Please tell as many Japanese and World friends to mark this date in their calendars. Each person, try to bring 2-3 friends. Please help spread the word!
And if YOU are a GOOD HUGGER, please come share the wealth and make Tokyo more huggable! We need you! Teach some people how to give a proper-ass hug!
Check back here to see if any information has changed!
